A review of my favorite non-alcoholic wines at an affordable price
I've thrown a lot of non-alcoholic wine and money down the drain lately. I hope this roundup helps you find something delicious to sip on during your dry nights.
Out of all the non-alcoholic wines I've tried over the past two years, these are my top picks under $30 per bottle. I've tried to pick ones that are affordable and easily accessible - many are available on Amazon or at The Zero Proof where you can use code SoberishMom for 15% off.*
But before that... let me be perfectly honest. Are these the perfect dupes to "real" wine? No. When you remove alcohol from wine it inevitably affects the body and flavor, and you will always be able to tell it's non-alcoholic. One of the closest I found this year was Zeronimo's Leonis Blend, but it comes in at $70 a bottle which really isn't in my everyday budget.
When you try any of these, know that you really can't compare apples to apples (grapes to grapes?). I suggest going in with an open mind and be ready to have a little fun as you sip. Cheers!
Best Non-Alcoholic White & Rosé Wines
Saint Viviana Sauvignon Blanc

Awarded one of the “Best Nonalcoholic White Wines” by Wine Enthusiast, this is an easy sipper with only 10 calories and 2g of sugar a glass. It’s off-dry with a hint of peach, apple, and a tart finish. Serve it ice cold and it won’t overpower your dishes or leave you with a raging headache the next day. $22 at The Zero Proof or Amazon
Leitz Non-Alcoholic Riesling

This dealcoholized wine has made its way onto award-winning wine lists all around the world. It's medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing with bright notes of green apple and pear. It's a tad sweet but only about 4g of suagr per glass and lovely alongside charcuterie boards and light meals. $18 at The Zero Proof.
Lautus Chardonnay, Rosé & Savvy Red

Lautus is a South African brand that offers a few of my favorite bottles - I thoroughly enjoyed their dealcoholized chardonnay, sparkling rosé and "Savvy Red," which also comes in a can for those who don't want to open an entire bottle. You'll find a few classic chardonnay flavors of green apple, stone fruit and just a whisper of butteriness, which is challenging to detect in most non-alcoholic whites. $20 at The Zero Proof.
Giesen Dealcoholized Rosé

This dealcoholized rosé from Giesen is an easy sipper with notes of bright berries and citrus, with less than 3g of sugar per glass. It's perfect for a guilt-free evening glass and a wonderful base for alcohol-free sangria. $25 on Amazon, $16 at The Zero Proof.
Best Non-Alcoholic Red Wines
Noughty AF Syrah

Rated one of the best non-alcoholic wines by The New York Times, this is one of the closest dupes you'll find to red wine. Noughty AF Wines are among my favorites (both their sparking rose and brut are delicious as well), so Noughty is brand you can trust. This dealcoholized syrah is a smooth, medium-bodied red that exhibits ripe, juicy fruit without being overly sweet. There is no added sugar or juice, and it has a bit of a dry finish making it fairly well-balanced. Add a dash of bitters (here's why that will help) and you're golden. $25 at The Zero Proof, $29 on Amazon.
Oddbird GSM Red Wine

Oddbird is one of my favorite non-alcoholic wine producers because of the craft that goes into every bottle. Their winemaking process includes sourcing high-quality grapes and letting the wine mature for up to 12 months before the dealcoholization process begins. The GSM Red (Greancge, Syrah, Mouvedre) has layers of dark fruit, is well-balanced with good body and tannin structure for a non-alcoholic red wine. I also love their sparkling non-alcoholic wines, also available at a good price online. $25 on Amazon or The Zero Proof.
Best Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wines
Noughty AF Sparkling Chardonnay & Rosé

Rated one of the "Best Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wines" by The New York Times, this has always been one of my all-time favorites. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes out of Spain, the flavor is lovely with delicate notes of apples and citrus and a slight minerality with about 5g of sugar per glass. A really nice mouthfeel with tiny, cava-like bubbles. I really enjoy their entire lineup including their sparkling rosé. Noughty is a top brand you can trust, they've never let me down. $22 at The Zero Proof or Amazon
Giesen Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine

One of the most affordable at $20 per bottle, this is a bright bottle of non-alcoholilc sparkling wine. It's off-dry and refreshing at only 20 calories per glass, so you don't have to worry about it being overly sweet. It has a citrusy bite on the finish that almost emulates the real deal. $20 at The Zero Proof or Amazon.
Oddbird Blanc de Blancs

The Oddbird Blanc de Blancs is made from Chardonnay & Colombard grapes, giving notes of green apple and a balanced acidity with a hint of lemon. It's off-dry with about 6g of sugar per glass, has a mild sweetness and a crisp, refreshing finish. $25 at The Zero Proof or Amazon
Joyus Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine

Joyus is produced in Seattle, WA and one of the only woman-owned non-alcoholic wineries in the U.S. This one is lovely with delicious notes of apricot and a hint of tropical fruit, like a whisper of pineapple. There’s a nice tart acidity balanced with a soft sweetness. It comes in at about 5g of sugar per glass and I would happily drink this one any night. $25 on Amazon.
Best Grocery Store Option: Mionetto Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine

At only $16 per bottle this is the best bang for your buck, and you don't have to special order it. I've seen it at every Kroger in my PNW area and it's delightfully zesty and crisp, and won't break the bank. Definitely the best grocery store find of the year and perfect for mimosa mocktails.
