A sweet and citrusy mock-a-rita just in time for blackberry season
Blackberry bushes have overtaken our backyard, and I'm not mad about it! I love summer berry season, and this mocktail is the perfect way to celebrate it.
The color is stunning and the taste is phenomenal! I used 1 ounce of non-alcoholic tequila from Ritual Zero Proof to mimic the flavor and burn of tequila, but you can certainly make this recipe without any n/a spirits and add a little extra soda at the end. Ingredients
4-5 blackberries
1 oz lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup or agave
1 oz of n/a tequila (optional)
Splash of club soda
Salt rim and garnish with lime wedge or blackberry
Instructions
Place blackberries in a cocktail shaker and fresh squeeze 1 oz of lime juice on top (usually a full lime).
Add in your sweetener, and then muddle the until blackberries break apart, about 20 seconds.
Add n/a tequila and a scoop of ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
Pour into a fresh glass filled with ice. I used a lime + salt rim on mine.
Top with soda water, garnish and enjoy!
