A quick cinnamon-flavored syrup that adds cozy notes to your fall and winter drinks
This simple, homemade syrup is the perfect addition to your fall drinks, including zero-proof cocktails like a Cinnamon Hot Not Toddy, or even your morning cup of tea or coffee. As an added bonus, your kitchen will smell like Christmas as you simmer cinnamon, maple syrup and cloves to create this easy recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup high-quality maple syrup
1 cup water
4 cinnamon sticks
1 TB cloves
1 orange, peeled and cut in half
Instructions:
In a medium pot, combine all of the ingredients and bring to a gentle boil. Boil for 5 min, then remove from the heat and cover.
Let the syrup fully cool for an hour. Even better, let it sit in your fridge overnight so the flavors infuse further.
Strain the syrup into a glass jar. Store in your fridge for up to two weeks.
