The perfect mocktail recipe for hosting brunches or parties this fall
I am a self-proclaimed bubbles queen! I absolutely love champagne and sparkling wines, which is why I was exited to try Surely's Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Brut. It's an award-winning alcohol-removed bubbly white that's very dry with hints of of lemon, peach and passion fruit. With only 30 calories and 6g of sugar a glass, you can sip this guilt-free all day.
For this mocktail recipe I made a homemade plum simple syrup with Italian plums from my friend's backyard. This syrup comes together in a snap, and can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for 10-14 days. I especially love the plum color for fall. Depending on the varietal of plums you use, yours may range from pinkish hue to a deeper red.
Ingredients:
Plum Simple Syrup - yields 1C
5 pitted plums
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Mimosa
1 oz plum simple syrup
Instructions:
Add plums, sugar and water to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer.
Simmer 3-5 min (until the plums start to breakdown), then remove from heat. Let stand for 20 min.
Strain out the plums and let the syrup cool. You can keep this chilled in the fridge until ready for use.
Pour 1 oz plum simple syrup into a champagne flute. Fill with non-alcoholic bubbles.
Enjoy! Cheers!
