A perfect way to ease out of summer and into red wine season
Tinto de Verano, Spanish for “red wine of summer,” is a refreshing and simple red wine cocktail that’s ready in less than 2 minutes. It only requires a few simple ingredients, and it's one of my favorite ways to enjoy red wine when it's still warm out.
This is a great recipe to batch for a crowd at a lunch or dinner party. I'm making this with a non-alcoholic wine alternative from Gnista, which has a juicy cherry flavor and hint of oakiness that is really delicious. If you use real wine it's still a nice low-alcohol cocktail and great way to pace yourself. For the soda I used Betty Buzz's Lemon Lime Soda because it uses all natural ingredients and is lower in sugar than traditional brands like Sprite, but you can use any brand you love.
I like to add a dropper of bitters to add a bit more complexity to the non0alcoholic wine. You can use a non-alcoholic bitters or a few dashes of regular bitters will make the drink .5-1.5% ABV depending on how much you add.
